We are not the police. We are the robbers.

And what aggravates this disconnect is that you - you, in your own words this very day - made reference to the "we need/want their ****" excuse for making war on sovereign states and peoples. You also defended jackbootery with the argument that if we're not stepping on their necks, they'll be stepping on ours - a SECOND example this very day of you framing our action as other than the neocon canard of our "being the world police." I do not understand how your brain has the space for those utterances, and toleration of the "world police" narrative. I've heard of a game called cops and robbers, but our country being both cops and robbers is no game.

I know what our aircraft carriers are doing. Limping away from combat, injured.

And I know what the western press is doing. Covering that up. But the rest of the world knows. And those of us who source from non-western journalists know. We don't know the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. But we know what our own press is covering up. And what they are covering up is that Iran got to the lincoln and the ford, caused death and failure, forced retreat.

I'm not saying that for any reason but sarcasm. We should have stayed the **** out of a lot of **** in my lifetime (just as you referenced your lifetime). Always at odds with somebody else. Always.
We're both sick of it, remember?  ;)

You are taking my pointed remarks as support of "policy" or whatever it might be called.
I'm sorry if you're being serious while I'm not. Not really anyway.
That's our only disconnect.

There may have been a time in my life many years ago (maybe oil shortage "crisis") as a youngster that I thought we use up theirs first then we'll be sitting pretty. In other words, I knew even then that we have lots of resources. The oil shortage was merely geo-political theater.
Just as I know NIMBY plays a big part in US domestic policy. Keep America beautiful while strip mining elsewhere.
I read someplace it takes 29 years to get approvals to open a new mine in the US. That is some real red tape. We **** ourselves all the time.
Because we've had access to places elsewhere so long we've taken so much for granted.

I'm actually starting to get interested in the Iran **** a little bit. I wonder what Iran used to gimp our carriers.
Was it Russian or Chinese technology? Those little brown guys are only good for speed boats, I think.
Please seat yourself.
